From ballet to acting

I was born on September 11, 1999. in Bar, Montenegro. My first encounter with art was related to classical ballet, which I practiced for thirteen years. Obviously, ballet left a big mark on my life and was important to me, and even the moment when I realized that I wanted acting to be my life's vocation was related to ballet. This happened at the ballet competition "Sicilia Barocca" in 2014. I won a silver medal, but a much bigger event than that was that the president of the jury approached me and asked me if I had ever thought about acting because he thought that only movement was insufficient for my stage expression. I thought about what he told me, and very quickly I recognized in myself the need to expand the range of tools I use in performing arts. And so, after completing two years of high school in Bar, I moved to Belgrade to prepare for the entrance exam.

FDU as a school of courage

I was prepared by a wonderful colleague, actress Vanja Eidus. For the dramatic monologue I prepared "Elektra" by Danil Kiš, for the comic Juca from "Kir Janja" by Jovan Steria Popović, and the song I prepared was "I am the way I am" by Žak Prever. And I succeeded. I enrolled in acting at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade after completing the 3rd year of high school. I was in the class of professor Biljana Mašić. I was in class with Denis Murić, Jan Bjelica, Filip Stankovski, Pavlo Mensur, Relja Janković, Alisa Radaković, Nikola Cvetković, Sanja Lukić, Tara Đurašinović, Andrija Nikčević and Nina Perišić. Memories from my studies are in my head every day. It was a carefree period, but I still feel that I matured a lot both as a person and as an actress. The most important thing that I learned during my studies, and what I am still guided by, is to be brave and try. By trying and constantly working with great diligence, I will achieve a good result.

Theater as a family

My first professional engagement was in front of the camera in my third year of study, shooting the film "The Name of the Nation" directed by Darko Bajić. And my first engagement in the theatre was in Buha, in the fourth year of studies, and it was the play "Bokeški Đmol" directed by Milan Karadžić. After some time, a few "stitches" in plays, and a role in "Beauty and the Beast", employment came. I was admitted to Buḫ on January 16, 2023. There I was welcomed by a team of people who accepted me as their own from the very beginning. Each of them has a special place in my soul. But Andrijana Oliverić Bekana is a special person in my life, in my heart she has the place of a theatre mother.

The beauty of diversity

All engagements and roles are equally important to me because I work with directors who trust me and give me completely different roles - that's the beauty of this job, playing as many different characters as possible, thinking about different characters and their wants, desires, goals. That's why I can say that there are no specific roles that I wish for. The only thing I wish for is that I continue to play different characters, that the directors recognize in me the ability to interpret different characters in different genres, and that I play as much as possible.

If I had to single out one role, it would be Katarina Šparović in "Bokeški đmol". Firstly, because she led me to Buha, and secondly, Katarina is a character that most actresses dream of playing at this age. Working on "Bokeški Đmol" was actually working on yourself, your emotions, purity in love and family relationships.
